ALBANY, N.Y. — The Grasshopper Group, a pioneering new venture, is set to bring together residential home service companies across the Northeast, starting with its acquisition of Hummingbird Heating & Cooling in Syracuse, New York.
This initiative represents the first women-owned and -led group of its kind in the United States, focusing on long-term sustainability and profitability rather than short-term revenue growth, according to a press release from Grasshopper Group.
Amanda Triolo, the founder of Grasshopper Group, has been recognized for her outstanding leadership and achievements. At just 31, she was honored by The ACHR NEWS as one of its 40 Under 40 in 2022, named to the Albany Business Review’s 40 Under 40 in 2023, received the Power 50 award from the same magazine in 2024, and was named Woman of the Year by the E3 Women’s Organization in 2023.
Under Triolo’s leadership, Grasshopper Heating & Cooling experienced significant business growth while setting new standards for workplace culture. The company was named one of the Best Places to Work by the Albany Business Review for two consecutive years and was also recognized as the Corporate Partner of the Year by Girls Inc.
Hummingbird Heating & Cooling offers comprehensive residential HVAC services across Upstate New York. It is known for its commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, as noted in the Grasshopper Group’s press release.
“We are thrilled to join The Grasshopper Group,” said Chad Terrinoni, CEO of Hummingbird. “The alignment of our values with Grasshopper’s mission is powerful. Together, we look forward to achieving new heights and driving forward progress. We’ve had the pleasure of having Amanda as a friend and a mentor for a few years now, and to be able to work alongside her on this new venture will be incredible for us!”
